The Houston Astros 2015 Minor League Pitcher of the Year, Joe Musgrove, was the tough-luck loser last Tuesday night, is now 1-1 with a Texas League best 0.52 ERA (1 ER/17.1 IP) in 4 appearances (3 starts) this year. Musgrove has struck out 21 batters against 2 walks and 12 hits for a .182 BAA. The only earned tally against him came courtesy of a home run by Luke Voit, the first batter he faced last Tuesday at Springfield. Musgrove responded by retiring 10 of the next 12 Cardinals to end the game.
Musgrove’s lone loss last year was April 28 when he held Cedar Rapids to 1 unearned run on 4 hits in 6 innings of relief.
