Since May 5, only three starting pitchers have posted a lower ERA than Hunter Brown’s mark of 1.99. The right-hander, who noticeably struggled to start the season, has been the ideal representative for the Astros’ recent turnaround. In a season when much has gone wrong, Brown righting the ship has a massive development for this club.
Alas, there will be the occasional dud as Brown’s start against the Twins was a forgettable one, allowing seven earned runs across six innings. All seven of those runs were scored within the first three innings, by the way. If it wasn’t for a taxed bullpen, Brown’s day would’ve likely ended earlier than it actually did.
