In the first games that included Astros debuts for both Christan Walker and Isaac Peredes and the season and the first outing of the season for Ronel Blanco, Cam Smith, the outfielder that the Astros got from the Cubs in the Kyle Tucker trade, took over. The 22-year-old smacked two homers to right-center to help lead the Astros to a 8-5 win over the Mets.
Right from the start, Blanco didn’t look that good. A leadoff single reached third on a stolen base and a throwing error and he came around to score on a one-out single, giving the Mets a 1-0 lead in the first.
