The Houston Rockets knotted up the Western Conference Finals at two games apiece yesterday. As I was jumping up and down off my couch after each made Chris Paul three, I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between this 2017-2018 Rockets squad and the 2017 Houston Astros.
These teams felt similar from the paths that they took, to James Harden and Jose Altuve, and to A.J. Hinch and Mike D’Antoni. They have also had their rosters constructed similarly and had to vanquish familiar foes.
Everything also feels bigger after events that took place in Houston, as the Southeastern Conference would say, “It just means more.
