Houston Astros: Six reasons not to worry about this team’s adversity

Related Topics: Stress (biology), Fenway Park

This might be a stretch with what I’m about to say here. While I can’t make a prediction that the Houston Astros will a World Series again this year, something tells me that this has the makings of another resilient championship run. Why do I say that? Look at the keyword resilient. This signifies one thing: adversity.

As of right now, the Houston Astros are being thrown with adversity. This comes as no surprise considering the Houston Astros dealt with adversity last season. They:

  • Start off very well
  • Finish with 60 wins at the All-Star break
  • Fail to make a trade deal at the July 31st deadline
  • Spent time at a neutral site because of Hurricane Harvey
  • Win the AL West Division
  • Came back to beat Boston in Game 4 at Fenway Park
  • Rallied from 3-2 down against the Yankees to win the pennant
  • Knocked off the best team in the 104-win Dodgers

With all this, they became one of the biggest inspirational stories in all of sports given the circumstances.
