The minor league season is charging towards its end within the next few weeks and while may Houston Astros affiliates have already secured spots in the playoffs, the Lancaster JetHawks will have to fight for their spot. The Astros High-A team entered Wednesday with a 3.5 game deficit between themselves and the first place High Desert Mavericks (TEX). To complicate matters for the JetHawks, Ranco Cucamonga (LAD) is in second place, just 1.5 games back of the lead.
Lancaster has gone 6-4 over their last ten games and will need some help to go along with some consistency if they want to join the playoff party.
