The Houston Astros were able to go 1-1 today in some split-squad action between the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets. The final decision was a 4-2 win over the Mets and a 7-5 loss over the Cards.
Houston Astros reliever Austin Pruitt, acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays this offseason, pitched three solid innings in his start, allowing just one hit and no earned runs. Michael Brantley was 2-for-2 with one RBI and Oscar Salazar, a 7th-round pick from the 2018 Draft, had the lone homer for the club, going 1-for-1 in the pinch.
