Houston Astros bested by Seattle Mariners in 5-2 loss

The Houston Astros witnessed their five-game winning streak go up in smoke after falling to Roenis Elias and the Seattle Mariners on the road, losing by the final score of 5-2.

Both teams opened up the first inning with runs, but it would be outfielder George Springer who would strike first. Springer connected on a lead-off solo home run to left field – his 11th bomb of the season as he continues to stay hot in the batter’s box for this first-place club.

Starting pitcher, Lance McCullers later loaded up the bases full of Mariners during the bottom half of the inning and walked outfield slugger Nelson Cruz that tied things up at one apiece.
