One other big surprise is how big a certain rule in the new collective bargaining agreement. When the news broke on the details of the new CBA this offseason, I liked the 10-day DL rule. Too many times last year, the Houston Astros carried a player too long on the roster before putting him on the 15-day DL.
Half a month just seemed like too long a time to be without a player on the 15-day DL. But ten days seems more reasonable. No one expected how much this would affect the game and most importantly, the DL epidemic in fantasy baseball.
