'Hawks Johnny Bench Award winning catcher's hitting streak snapped at 16 games

Lancaster JetHawks catcher Garrett Stubbs launched the go-ahead 3-run homer in Thursday's comeback win, his third home run in his last two games. The home run extended his hitting streak to 16. Stubbs was hitting .351 with 4 homers and 11 RBI during the streak entering into play Friday.

Last night Garrett Stubbs, the former Johnny Bench Award winning catcher, for being the best catcher in college ball, went hitless to end his hitting streak at 16 games as the JetHawks fell to the High Desert Mavericks, 8-3, on Friday night at Heritage Field, to snap a brief four-game winning streak for the ‘Hawks.
