After smashing the Rangers on Monday with a 15-1 score, the Astros had their ace on the mound to try to have another strong performance on Tuesday. But that wasn’t the case, as Zack Greinke was outpitched by Jordan Lyles and Texas won the second game of the series, beating Houston 8-1.
Greinke made his return after being out since August 29 and it didn’t go well for him. Besides taking the loss (11-6), he surrendered five hits and eight runs (seven earned) across five episodes of three walks, four strikeouts, and three home runs, including Adolis García’s 30th dinger of the season.
