OAKLAND -- Astros outfielder Carlos Gomez will miss the rest of the series against the A's with a sore left rib cage suffered while diving for a ball in left-center during Friday night's 7-4 loss.
"He landed awkwardly on his ribs," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "He fell on his elbow. The X-rays were negative, but he's pretty sore."
Gomez, who had two hits Friday to raise his average to .213, has run into some bad luck this week. He left Wednesday's game in Seattle after getting hit on his right hand by a pitch.
