On almost any other night, George Springer’s two home runs would have been the biggest highlights for him and the Astros at Minute Maid Park.
Springer, after all, had only one multi-home run game in his career before drilling a pair of home runs Monday night.
Springer, the right fielder, may have outshined Springer, the slugger, though, while leading the Astros to a 6-3 victory over the Rockies. He wowed the crowd of 21,820 at the plate and in the field.
Springer shone brightly on a night Colby Rasmus delivered the biggest blow with a three-run home run in the opener of a two-game interleague set against the Rockies.
