Astros manager A.J. Hinch says George Springer will likely take batting practice Monday at Yankees Stadium.
“Monday or Tuesday will be the first day we get him a full batting practice,” Hinch said. “It’s very encouraging. That’s when it starts to feel real that he’s becoming more and more of an active player, when his normal routine is like any other player on our team.
“I’m thrilled with the progress that he’s made. I’m cautious because I want to continue to make positive steps forward and not have any sort of hiccup along the way. He’s rearing to go, and that’s a good sign.
