George Springer rejoining Astros after 7 days on concussion disabled list

They could use some spring in their step.

George Springer is coming back to the roster after just one rehab game in place of Robbie Grossman, who won a job on the team with a strong spring but didn’t fare well at the plate in a reserve role as the season got going.

Springer went 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in his lone rehab appearance for Class AA Corpus Christi on Tuesday, playing in a road game in San Antonio. He was the designated hitter.

Springer hadn’t played since May 5, when he suffered a concussion crashing into the wall making a great catch at Minute Maid Park against the Rangers.
