The Astros completed a sweep of the Royals on Wednesday, but it came with a cost. Royals' pitcher Edinson Volquez hit George Springer in the hand with a pitch.

The pitch caught Springer on the edge of his right hand as it was wrapped around the knob the bat. Springer went to the ground and was in clear, immediate pain. After a visit from the Astros training staff, Springer stayed in the game.

Springer would stay in the game, even sliding head-first into third later in the inning.
