Astros right fielder George Springer, who was cleared to resume baseball activities last Friday, continued to progress toward returning for the first time since he suffered a right wrist fracture July 1.
Springer played catch Tuesday in the outfield and took some light swings.
“He’s slowly but surely introducing swinging into his rehab program,” Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. “Everything is progressing fine. His strength is good. His range of motion is good.
“He hasn’t had any pain that he’s reported. Step by step he’s answering a lot of questions. We’ll increase the intensity, a little bit of the weight-bearing stuff.
