Can the pitching get any better?
Apparently so. Charlie Morton wanted to be with his teammates at the top of the ERA leader board, so tonight he threw seven innings, yielding only one run on 4 hits. His K/BB ratio was 14/0. Right, a career high 14 k’s, 9 swinging, and no walks. So tonight Morton took possession of third place in the AL ERA race (2.03), behind first place teammate Justin Verlander (1.21) and 2nd place Gerrit Cole (1.43).
The only run against Morton was a Ronald Guzman home run in the third. The rest of the night belonged to Uncle Charlie.
