Game Recap: Astros Overcome Morton’s Bizarre Start with Strong Bullpen, Timely Hitting to Beat Rangers 4-3

Coming into tonight’s game, there were a few question marks about Charlie Morton due to his recent outings against Cleveland, New York, and Boston. In those three games, Morton was not as sharp as he was in his first two months of the season, but some attributed this decline to the rise in the level of the competition. Tonight, at least a few of us figured that Morton would bounce back against a weaker Rangers lineup, but that was unfortunately not the case.

The Rangers did not even hit Morton hard, the veteran right-hander just lost command of every pitch in his arsenal, walking six Rangers hitters in less than four innings of work while only allowing 1 hit and striking out four.
