After some promising hits and bursts against the Arlington Rangers this past weekend, the Houston Astros offense yet again fell asleep tonight. Even after mustering a couple of hits in the middle of a one-run game in the ninth inning, Yuli Gurriel failed to drive in Jose Altuve from second base and tie the game.
It sure was a shame that the Astros offense could not produce tonight, as the Astros starter, Lance McCullers Jr., pitched very well against a tough Angels offense. In six full innings of work, McCullers surrendered just two earned runs and struck out six.
