Is the Astros pitching getting better, or are the A’s just not hitting?
Whichever, the Astros have won their fourth straight and third against the A’s with a shutout tonight following last night’s 2-1 victory. With a sweep of the series in tomorrow’s fourth game, the Astros will surpass the A’s for third place in their ascension toward their rightful place atop the AL West.
The Astros won behind the lock-down pitching of starter Framber Valdez. It was vintage Valdez at his best. Seven scoreless innings, allowing only two infield hits and two walks, with eight strikeouts.
