Former Astros star Lance Berkman takes stand on Houston’s equal rights ordinance

Former Astros star Lance Berkman has joined the fray on the controversy surrounding HERO, Houston’s proposed equal rights ordinance.

Berkman recently recorded a radio advertisement for the anti-HERO Campaign for Houston PAC detailing his opposition to the ordinance. The ad can be heard here. The following is a transcript of what Berkman said in the spot:

“Vote no on Proposition One. No men in women’s bathrooms. No boys in girls’ showers or locker rooms. I’m Lance Berkman. I played professional baseball for 15 years, but my family is more important. My wife and I have four daughters.
