It’s been nearly a week since the Astros made the second of two big deals ahead of the July 31 MLB trade deadline, the latter of which saw top prospect Brett Phillips headline a package of prospects sent to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for two-time All-Star outfielder Carlos Gomez and starting pitcher Mike Fiers.
For Phillips, the move was understandably a shocker and marked the first time the 21-year-old has been traded since the Astros took him in the sixth round out of Seminole (Fla.) High School in 2012. Recently, he checked in with Jeff Todd of mlbtraderumors.
