Former Astros third baseman Matt Dominguez, who was designated for assignment June 8 so the Astros could make room for Carlos Correa on the 40-man roster, was claimed off waivers by the Brewers.
The Brewers then optioned Dominguez to Class AAA Colorado Springs.
Only Jose Altuve started more games than Dominguez for the Astros from 2013 through 2014, but Dominguez lost his starting spot when the club acquired Luis Valbuena this winter.
Dominguez spent the season with Class AAA Fresno before he was designated last week.
