The Astros got the final day of the MLB draft (rounds 11-40) with a high school pitcher from southern California.
Patrick Sandoval is a 6-3, 190-pound lefthander from Mission Viejo HS. He originally committed to Vanderbilt but switched to USC. Will the Astros be able to offer enough to get him to forego college becomes the question.
Round 12: Myles Straw, CF, St. Johns River State College (Fla.)
Round 13: Kevin McCanna, RHP, Rice
Round 14: Johnny Sewald, CF, Arizona State
