DETROIT — Remember the Astros’ roster jam from spring training? It’s rearing its head again.
Chris Carter walked off during batting practice in foul territory along the first base line with a small, short black glove — a training aid to help players improve their defense. Carter handed the glove back to bench coach Trey Hillman, gave him a first bump and walked off.
He certainly looks good over there. On Thursday at Comerica Park, Carter made a fantastic sliding catch in foul territory near the railing of the Astros dugout that brought him onto highlight shows.
