In his third season in Houston, Astros slugger Chris Carter is now eighth all-time in franchise history in home runs at Minute Maid Park.
Carter deposited a 421-foot, two-run home run into the Astros bullpen in the second inning Tuesday night to help spark the Astros’ comeback in the 10-5 victory over the Angels.
That shot was Carter’s 17th of the season. It also was his 13th home run against the rival Angels since 2013, giving him the most home runs in that span by any player against the Angels.
Moreover, the homer was Carter’s 44th at Minute Maid Park putting him within two home runs of tying Richard Hidalgo for seventh all-time in home runs by an Astro at Minute Maid Park.
