While many of the 2005 Astros return to Minute Maid Park to be honored as part of the club’s Legends Weekend, righthanded reliever Chad Qualls will take part of the reunion as the only remaining active Astro from the franchise’s first and only World Series team.
Qualls, 36, was in his second season in the majors and his first full season in 2005. Now he’s in his 12th season in the majors and the second of his second stint with the club.
“It’s pretty cool to still be playing,” he said. “It was obviously my first full season as a major league player getting called up part of the way through ’04.
