Carlos Correa making a case for AL Rookie of the Year honors

Astros phenom Carlos Correa is quickly solidifying his front-runner status for the American League Rookie of the Year award, and he isn’t afraid to say that honor is among his goals this season.

“Of course it is,” he said. “Since Day 1, it’s been a goal. It’s something I’ve been striving for, but the most important thing right now is to help my team win games and help make the postseason.”

Correa entered the second game of a three-game series against the Angels with nine home runs, which was tied with teammate Preston Tucker for second among AL rookies.
