Sandybel Oppenheimer and Carlos Correa Sr. were anxious to see if their son Carlos would like the gifts they presented him Tuesday morning for his 21st birthday.
“My mom got me a watch and cologne that I wanted, and it was a pretty expensive one,” he said. “So she was saying, ‘It better last you five years’ because it was an expensive one. I think that’s the best (gift) I got so far.”
Correa Sr. and Oppenheimer presented the Astros’ rookie shortstop with his gifts after singing “Happy Birthday” to him at breakfast.
“We’re very happy for this opportunity that God has given us 21 years after we became parents,” Oppenheimer said.
