Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow, hired in 2011 after a stint in St. Louis' front office, brought a forward-thinking approach that utilizes analytics heavily. Cardinals GM John Mozeliak and CEO Bill DeWitt Jr. said on Wednesday that the team would take appropriate action against anyone in the organization found to have participated in the hacking of the Astros computer database.
“These are serious allegations that don’t reflect who we are as an organization,” DeWitt said in a written statement.
