By agreeing to terms with Christian Walker, most recently with the Diamondbacks, Houston has filled a position that has been an issue in the past two seasons. Three years, $60 million for Walker is sure to invoke memories of José Abreu’s ill-fated three-year, $57.5 million contract two years ago, but the former has not only posted a 120 wRC+ with 95 home runs since 2022, but he’s also younger and a better defensive first baseman.
