Righthander Brad Peacock, who has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 15 with a strained left intercostal muscle, will undergo an MRI exam on Friday.
If all appears structurally sound, he’ll have a cortisone injection on his left side, he says.
Although he has played catch recently, Peacock has not thrown off a mound since he had a setback during his rehab assignment June 12.
“Just a bone scan to make sure nothing’s cracked,” Peacock said of the MRI. “After that I’ll get a cortisone shot. I haven’t thrown any bullpen. I’ve been playing catch.
