Behind Alex Bregman’s three RBI, Ronel Blanco again proved why his being snubbed from the All-Stars is a travesty.
After giving up a home run to Jazz Chisholm to start the game, Blanco dominated the next 5.2 innings, allowing only three more hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts through seven innings. Unfortunately, one of those hits was a seventh-inning homer by Jesus Sanchez. Before that, Blanco retired seventeen straight Marlins.
Meanwhile, Bregman gave him the run support he needed, hitting in Chas McCormick twice, first with a single in the fifth inning, and then with a home run in the seventh.
