NEW YORK — Carlos Correa has seen snow sitting on the ground, but never before has the boy from Puerto Rico seen flakes fall from the sky.
So when the Astros’ young superstar got word Saturday morning that the awards dinner in New York where he was supposed to receive his 2015 American League Rookie of the Year hardware was called off because of a blizzard, he wasn’t disappointed.
“I don’t care, I’m about to head outside and throw some snowballs at my dad,” Correa said by phone.
Correa and Dallas Keuchel are both in Manhattan, the latter to receive his Cy Young award.
