George Springer’s face-plant into the wall and subsequent concussion making a great catch in a lopsided game Tuesday led to a jarring feeling for the Astros’ roster a night later.
For the first time in 2015, the Astros have lost three in a row and have been swept in a series, falling in ugly fashion 11-3 to the Rangers on Wednesday at Minute Maid Park.
The Astros were bound to hit a rough patch. No matter how they handled Springer’s evaluation on Wednesday, they may well have lost. Rangers starter Colby Lewis tossed eight innings of one-run ball with the Astros lineup living up to a feast-or-famine billing.
