The Houston Astros already owned the most stacked lineup in MLB, but on June 9th, 2019 their lineup got even more dangerous when they called up Yordan Alvarez.
Before his call up to the big league, Alvarez was tearing it up in Triple-A. In his 56 games with Triple-A Round Rock Alvarez hit for an outstanding .343 average with 23 home runs and 71 RBI’s. In fact, teams started intentionally walking Alvarez, something that is rarely seen in minor league baseball. Because of his success, the Houston Astros called up Alvarez to the big leagues on June 9th, 2019.
