Astros catcher Jason Castro left half a dozen runners on the bases Sunday afternoon at Minute Maid Park, beginning with the bases loaded in the first.
His frustration was eased, however, by driving in what proved to be the winning run with his only hit of the afternoon to beat the Angels 4-3.
With the victory, the Astros won the three-game series 2-1 to improve to 6-6 before a crowd of 24,254, which included former President George H.W. Bush.
Castro also guided righthander Scott Feldman through six solid innings as the Astros won for the first time this season when someone other than Dallas Keuchel or Collin McHugh start.
