The Astros signed former Tigers utility infielder Danny Worth to a minor-league contract with an invitation to major-league spring training.
The Astros also officially announced the signing of lefthanders Wandy Rodriguez and Edwar Cabrera. Rodriguez’s return to Houston was confirmed last week by the Chronicle.
Worth, 30, spent last season at Class AAA Reno of the Diamondbacks organization. Cabrera, 28, split 2015 between Class AAA Round Rock and Class AA Frisco in the Rangers’ farm system.
Worth spent parts of five seasons between the minors and the Tigers from 2010 through 2014, hitting .230 over 135 games.
