The Astros have officially activated George Springer off the 10-day DL. As expected, Derek Fisher was sent back to Fresno to make room on the 25-man roster.
Springer sprained his thumb on a steal attempt in the Astros’ final game at Dodger stadium. While the injury did not look pretty on the field, fans would breathe a sigh of relief when it turned out to be a minor injury, landing Springer on the DL for just the minimum. His return will quite welcome for the sluggish Astros offense, assuming he can continue his .261/.352/.609 pace since the break.
