ANAHEIM, Calif. — Through eight innings, the Astros were on the verge of wasting Collin McHugh’s strong start Thursday night at Angel Stadium.
Then an offense that had been impotent came to life, rallying for three runs in the top of the ninth to give the Astros a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
By bombarding Angels closer Huston Street with four singles and a walk in the opener of a four-game series, the Astros snapped their season-high three-game losing streak before a stunned crowd of 25,097.
The Astros also extended their road winning streak to seven games, their longest since 2001.
