What a crazy game. Mark Appel pitched seven strong innings while only giving up one run (solo shot) on three hits (all to Wilin Rosario), walking none, and striking out ten. So, of course, Kevin Chapman comes in and gives up five runs in the eighth. Then the Grizzlies rebound and score an unearned run off newly-traded top prospect Miguel Castro. That's when things got even nuttier. James Hoyt had two quick innings (9th and 10th) while the Isotopes brought in outfielder Jeremy Barfield to pitch. Barfield has, in fact, pitched in relief before, doing so twenty-five times last year.
