Astros righthander Samuel Deduno, who went on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a lower back strain, was happy to learn that the MRI he underwent Tuesday afternoon revealed only inflammation near his hip.
The Astros also considered the results positive.
“It actually was good news,” Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said. “It’s nothing severe. It should be able to – with a little bit of rest and rehab – get back to where he was.”
Deduno will travel with the Astros on the seven-day trip through Detroit and Baltimore.
“I haven’t stop playing catch, so my arm will remain ready,” he said.
