Marwin Gonzalez is headed to Triple-A Sugar Land, as the former Houston Astros’ return could be right around the corner.
After a 1-for-4 contest consisting of two punch outs with the FCL Astros, Marwin Gonzalez’s time in West Palm Beach came to an end. The switch-hitter was re-assigned to the Sugar Land Skeeters on Thursday.
The Houston Astros signed the 2017 World Series champion to a minor-league deal on Aug. 27, making him eligible for the postseason. While not on the 40-man roster, there are currently two spots open with Zack Greinke and Taylor Jones on the injured list due to health and safety protocol.
