Astros kick it old school en route to evening series with AL West rival Angels

With a shooting star across their chests, ace lefthander Dallas Keuchel and outfielders George Springer and Robbie Grossman delivered a performance worthy of the men the Astros honored Saturday night at Minute Maid Park.

Shortly after the Astros honored six members of the original 1965 Astros who opened the Astrodome, Keuchel delivered six scoreless innings to help shut out the Angels 4-0.

Springer drilled the game-winning leadoff home run in the sixth. Grossman added a three-run home run in the seventh.

Chad Qualls, Pat Neshek and Luke Gregerson each added a scoreless inning of relief to combine on the shutout before a crowd of 28,209 to even the three-game series heading into Sunday’s finale.
