Astros' Josh Fields, a Rule Five success story

Josh Fields, the 30-year-old, right-handed reliever and former first-round pick is pitching in his eighth professional season, coming with the Seattle (2009-11), Boston (2011-12) and Houston (2013-16) organizations.

Fields, who will be working out of the Astros bullpen has appeared in 149 Major League games and amassed 177 strikeouts in 143.1 innings, all with Houston.

In 2015, Fields ranked fifth among AL relievers in strikeouts per 9.0 innings (11.90) and struck out more batters than baserunners allowed on the season (67 SO vs. 39 H, 19 BB, 1 HB). Oddly enough, Fields earned a win on his birthday, his second

consecutive season to do so and is just the seventh Major League reliever all-time to win two games on his birthday.
