Doing statistical analysis during the season is like nailing Jell-O to a wall. A sudden good or bad game can change things dramatically for individual players. However, when we approach the all-star break we get a moment to pause and reflect. We also have enough games under our belt that suddenly those blips on the radar don’t seem to have as nearly as dramatic an effect as they did in April and May.
We do this as we pause because the calendar is also in July. Most teams act like a shopping cart with a bad wheel. It pulls to the right no matter which way it’s facing.
