The rookies strike again!
Who would have thought back in April that heading into the playoffs, players named Meyers, McCormick, Siri or Solomon would be the key players in heroic Astros comeback victories?
After another flameout by Zack Greinke, Peter Solomon saved the day by pitching four innings of one-run ball, keeping the Astros close. In the eighth inning, Jose Siri and Chas McCormick’s back-to-back homers gave the Astros the win. And although Jake Meyer didn’t have a heroic homer in this game, his defense in center field helped keep the game close.
The Astros struck first on a three-run home run by Carlos Correa against D-Back starter Zac Gallen.
