The only non-top-two seed remaining is the New York Mets, a sixth-seed who have taken out (in order), the fifth-seed (to get into the playoffs), the third-seed, (used three games to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers in the WildCard round), and the second-seed (defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, three-games-to-one). Now, they’re taking on the National League’s top seeded Los Angeles Dodgers, with a promise (deliverable on victory) to face one of the top two seeds in the American League.
In the meantime, the Cleveland franchise is looking to take home their first World Series Championship since 1948 — a 76-year drought that is the longest in Major League baseball at present.
