Astros catcher Max Stassi revels in return to Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. – Jim Stassi let his mind wander through the years when his middle son Max crouched behind the plate for the Astros at O.co Coliseum on Labor Day.

The former Yuba City High baseball coach had watched hundreds of games over his lifetime at the stadiuim. He fondly remembers cheering for Vida Blue, Bert Campaneris, Rollie Fingers and the rest of the players who helped the Oakland Athletics win three consecutive World Series titles from 1972-74.

But he had never been so invested in a game at O.co Coliseum until he saw his son starting for the Astros on Monday.
